Community Learning

Community learning takes place in two manners --

1) First UMC periodically arranges for speakers and teachers to present topics of both religious and civic interest. We aim for inclusivity and breadth of viewpoints and welcome the learning that comes from open, respectful dialogue.

2) First UMC hosts a number of civic groups who work to educate and facilitate the community in general to learn and take action in a variety of ways. Some of the outreach and education groups who meet regularly here are: Neighborhood Revitalization Coalition, Boy Scouts, Wild Plum Center Preschool, a Head Start program and others.
